Brainstorm [anything] and rank the ideas
The fastest way to generate ideas with ChatGPT — asks for a specific number, forces pros/cons on each, and ends with a ranking so you don't have to sift through a flat list.
Give me [NUMBER — 5-10 is the sweet spot] ideas for [SPECIFIC GOAL OR CHALLENGE]. Context that matters: [2-3 sentences about your situation, constraints, or what makes a good idea for you specifically — e.g. 'I have a $500 budget, I'm selling to small business owners, and I need results within 30 days'] For each idea: - The idea in one clear sentence - Why it could work (the specific mechanism) - The main reason it might not work or fail - Effort required: Low / Medium / High After the list: rank them 1 to [NUMBER] from the idea you'd try first to last, and explain your top pick in 2 sentences. Tips: • Ask for an odd number (5, 7, 9) — ChatGPT tends to front-load the best ideas and fill the back end with filler on even numbers • Add 'include at least 2 ideas I probably haven't thought of' to push past obvious suggestions • After you get the list: 'Take idea #[X] and give me 5 specific ways to execute it' — goes from concept to action • For creative brainstorms: add 'one idea must be the boring obvious answer, one must be the wildly unconventional answer' to force range • If you hate the list: 'None of these feel right — here's what I mean: [EXPLAIN]. Try again with that in mind.'
